Progress in the FSS programme: Factory Acceptance Tests of two main engines and first diesel generator
Two propulsion engines of the first Fleet Solid Support Ship (FSS) for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary have completed its FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) in a new milestone that marks the progress of the programme. The first diesel generator of the programme has also successfully passed its FAT.
Navantia’s team participated in these crucial tests at MAN’s facilities in Augsburg, Germany.
After completion of the Preliminary Design Review in October 2024, these tests marks a new milestone in the progression of the programme. The success of the tests ensures the provision of state-of-the-art efficient and reliable propulsion systems, which will significantly improve the operability and performance of its vessels.
Additionally, this advancement strengthens international collaboration and technological innovation in the naval sector.
