Navantia UK recognised as one of the Top 100 apprenticeship employers

11th July 2025.- Navantia UK has been recognised as one of the Top 100 apprenticeship employers by The Sunday Times.

This prestigious recognition celebrates the apprenticeship programme we’ve built together over the past three years across our Appledore, Arnish, Belfast and Methil sites. Today, 184 apprentices represent nearly 20% of our workforce – a figure that demonstrates our commitment to developing the next generation of engineering talent.

Our apprentices are gaining invaluable experience working on projects across the defence, energy and maritime sectors. They’re not just learning skills in fabrication, welding, electrical systems, CAD design and other specialisms – they’re helping build vessels that defend our values and protect our nation, whilst creating infrastructure that ensures our energy security and supports the transition to clean power. This is more than just training; it’s about being part of something that truly matters.

We’re going to welcome more apprentices this year as we continue expanding our programme. This growth reflects our ongoing investment in skills development and our commitment to building a sustainable workforce for the future.

This great news belongs to everyone who has supported our apprenticeship programme – from mentors and supervisors to colleagues who share their knowledge daily. Thank you for helping create an environment where our apprentices can thrive.

Together, we’re not just building ships or structures – we’re building a more secure and sustainable future for the UK.
