Our Appledore site in Devon is playing a pivotal role in the UK’s Fleet Solid Support (FSS) programme, delivering critical bow sections for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s next-generation support ships.
Under Navantia UK’s ownership, this historic shipyard is undergoing a major upgrade to align with the demands of modern naval construction.
Investment at Appledore forms part of a UK-wide regeneration strategy, enhancing the yard’s precision manufacturing capabilities with the latest digital tools and fabrication technologies.
A new state-of-the-art plasma cutter is replacing legacy equipment, increasing accuracy, speed and complexity in steel cutting — critical for delivering high-quality naval components on time and at scale.

Main hall and dry dock
